Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ace swimmer Pratyasa Ray representing Utkal University bagged double gold medals on the day two of the All India Inter University Swimming and Diving (M & W) Championship at SRM University at Chennai on Thursday.
Pratyasa grabbed gold medals each in the 100m backstroke and 50m backstroke events with 1:08.14 and 31.68 sec respectively. She won three gold medals in the meet, earlier on the inaugural day, Pratyasa bagged a gold in the 100m backstroke event clocking 01:08.14 sec.
In the women’s 50m backstroke, Bhakti Rahul Wadkar of Savitribai Phule Pune University and Nisha Shetty of Bangalore City University won silver and bronze medals with 32.03 sec and 32.46 sec respectively.
Another Odia swimmer Dibyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan representing KIIT university won a silver medal in the Women 50m breaststroke clocking 36.19 sec. Vasupalli Naga Greeshmini of Jain University clinched the gold medal with 35.28 sec and Hitaishi V of Jain University got the bronze medal with 36.55 sec.
