Mumbai, December 22: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit Parbhani in Maharashtra on December 23 to meet the families of two victims who lost their lives following recent violence in the city.
The unrest in Parbhani, located in the Marathwada region, erupted after a glass-enclosed replica of the Constitution near Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue outside the railway station was vandalized on December 10. The incident sparked outrage and led to clashes, leaving two dead.
While Gandhi’s visit aims to express solidarity with the bereaved families, the BJP has criticized the move, labeling it as mere "drama."
This visit marks Gandhi's continued focus on addressing social unrest and aligning with the concerns of marginalized communities.
