New Delhi, Oct 10: India is mourning the loss of Ratan Tata, who died at 86. The Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons was admired for his leadership and philanthropy. He died in a Mumbai hospital after being critically ill.

While Tata’s legacy is closely linked to the Tata Group, many may not know about his brief foray into Bollywood. In the early 2000s, he co-produced the 2004 psychological thriller Aetbaar, directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film starred Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, and Bipasha Basu, and centered on a father’s struggle to protect his daughter from an obsessive partner.

Despite its star-studded cast, Aetbaar flopped at the box office, grossing only Rs 4.50 crore against a budget of Rs 9.50 crore, leading to a financial loss of around Rs 1.5 crore. This disappointment marked Tata’s only venture into film production, as he chose not to return to Bollywood afterward.
