Ravenshaw students excel at ‘Lex Intellecta 2025’

Bhubaneswar, March 11: Two teams representing Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, claimed the first and third places at the state level quiz competition—Lex Intellecta 2025—conducted by the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here on Saturday.

The event, in which a team from S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, also from Cuttack, won the second prize, received overwhelming response. It was conducted under the banner of Intellectus Society.

Altogether 30 teams had registered for the competition of which 22 participated.

‘Primum Circum’, Round one of the competition, was a Multiple Choice Question elimination round where the top ten teams were chosen. Round two, listed as ‘Cheat the Chit’, tested the critical thinking of the competitors with active audience participation. A special quiz was also held for the non-participants to ensure inclusivity.

The event culminated with Round 3, ‘Lord of the Rounds’, in which the top six teams were involved in two intense sub-rounds showcasing exceptional intellect and composure. The quiz was conducted by Quiz Master Mr. Satwik Raut an IIT-Bhubaneswar alumnus, who kept the audience engaged with his wit and charm. Presently, Mr. Raut is working as Senior Editor of Brand Marketing in BankBazar in Bengaluru.

Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SOA, graced the closing ceremony of the event as the chief guest and gave away the prizes. Prof. Prabir Kumar Pattnaik, Senior Professor at SNIL, addressed the closing function while Prof. Samantaray highlighted the significance of such competitions which nurtured knowledge and intellect. Dr. Amruta Das, Faculty Convenor, proposed the vote of thanks.

A cultural interlude by ‘URJA’ featuring a Bollywood mash-up and a classical flute recital marked the event. As it was the International Women’s Day tributes were also paid to women.
