Ottawa, (Canada) March 11: In a lighthearted farewell, Justin Trudeau made his exit from Parliament after resigning as Prime Minister of Canada, carrying a chair and sticking out his tongue.
As per tradition, Canadian lawmakers are allowed to take their chairs with them when they leave Parliament, a custom noted by Brian Lilley, a political columnist for the Toronto Sun, in a post on X. “When any MP leaves the Commons, they are allowed to take their chair, their seat with them. It’s a great tradition, one that I support. That said, this is a rather odd photo of Trudeau leaving with his. Could this be another sign of an impending election?” Lilley commented on X.
In his parting remarks, Trudeau reflected on the achievements of the Liberal Party during his decade in power and expressed optimism about the future, just hours before the announcement of his successor as party leader, according to CBC News.
Speaking at the Liberal Leadership Convention, Trudeau proudly stated, “I am damn proud of what we've done over these past 10 years for the middle class and those working hard to join it.” As the Liberal Party transitions into a new era, he reminded the audience of the importance of ensuring that Canada remains "the best country on Earth."
In one of his final speeches as both the Liberal leader and Prime Minister, Trudeau urged his supporters to continue the fight for Canada with unwavering dedication.( With ANI Input)
