Baripada, March 23:Two Odisha Ministers on Sunday faced an odd like situation in Mayurbhanj as enraged locals pelted stones and raised massive protest over belated assistance to the storm-hit people.
The violent rage of the Bangiriposhi locals let to shatter the windsreens of the ministers’ cars and left a Police Constable injured.
According to reports, following a disastrous Kalabaisakhi storm in the Mayurbhanj district on Saturday, Revenue & Disaster Minister Suresh Pujari and Minister for Urban Development Krushna Chandra Mohapatra visited the storm hit Bangiriposhi area today, to assessing the damages caused by the disaster. Meanwhile, the raged locals blockade the ways of the ministers, alleging delay in responding to the people’s distress. The mob reportedly pelted stone to the convoy for which the ministers’ vehicles were partially damaged whereas a cop sustained head injuries.
Later, the ministers calmed down the locals assuring due assistance and prompt compensation to the Kalabaisakhi-hit villagers.
