Bhubaneswar, November 13:The Deputy Chief Minister, Odisha, Pravati Parida, has advised women beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme to ensure that their mobile numbers are linked to their bank accounts.
This suggestion comes as many women, despite applying, have faced delays in receiving the financial aid promised by the scheme, which launched in May 2024 to economically empower married women.
With approximately 5 lakh applicants experiencing challenges due to unlinked bank accounts and mismatched Aadhaar and mobile numbers, Parida has stepped forward to address these issues.
She encourages applicants to visit their banks and complete the linking process to avoid further delays.
To ensure that no beneficiary is left out, government teams, along with Anganwadi workers, will begin village visits after March 24 to verify applications and resolve pending issues.
The government aims to bring relief and strengthen financial independence among women with this renewed focus on streamlined access to benefits.
