Tamil Nadu CM criticizes ‘Advocates Amendment Bill; as attack on legal profession's autonomy

Chennai, February 23: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin strongly criticized the Centre's Advocates Amendment Bill 2025, calling it a "direct assault on the autonomy of the legal profession."

He further pointed out the BJP's disregard for Tamil by proposing to rename the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry as the Bar Council of Madras.

"Tamil Nadu represents more than just a name; it embodies our identity!" Stalin emphasized.
