Mumbai, October 9: The doyen of India Inc. and Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons Ratan Naval Tata was reported to be "critical" at the Breach Candy Hospital here on Wednesday, after being admitted on Monday following certain age-related health conditions, an official said.
The 86-year-old business icon was admitted on Monday for age-related health issues.
While initial speculation about his health, Tata issued a statement reassuring the public, saying, “I am undergoing routine check-ups for age-related concerns but remain in good spirits.”
However, reports now suggest his condition has worsened, with unconfirmed reports indicating he is in the ICU.
An official statement regarding his health is expected on Thursday.
Ratan Tata led the Tata Group from 1991 to 2012 and briefly returned in 2016-2017 amidst leadership changes.
