Odisha police arrest 3 persons in 'loot & Gangrape' case in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, October 2: The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar have arrested three individuals in connection with a disturbing incident involving both robbery and gang rape at an apartment in the Maitri Vihar area of the capital city. 

The crime had occurred on the fateful night of Sonday, and the arrests were made on Wednesday.

According to Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh, two of the accused, Bikash Nayak and Jaga Singh, entered the apartment and committed the crime, while a third accomplice, Tukuna Nayak, waited outside to assist them. The perpetrators had previously stolen a mobile phone from the victim’s house and planned the crime after noticing that the balcony door was often left open.

 The victim, a 27-year-old woman, reported that the robbers looted valuables and then took turns raping her while holding her toddler at knife-point. The main accused have a history of criminal activities and had resumed their unlawful behavior after being released on bail.

 This distressing incident created shock in the Capital city. Commissionerate police have acted swiftly to apprehend the suspects.
