Barang, April 28: The eco-friendly toy train facility in Nandankanan Zoological Park here that was halted since January 25 due to technical snag ran on Saturday.
Over 80 children enjoyed toy train ride on the first day. As the facility was halted for the last three months visitors were not aware of resumption of the service. The number will increase in coming days, said the zoo administration.
The toy train has been a great attraction for children. It starts from the toy train station which goes round a circular track of 1.58 km along the lake and thickly vegetated hillock area with free ranging herbivores.
The eco-friendly battery-operated toy train with four bogies of 74-passenger capacity was introduced in October, 2021.
Hundreds of visitors were returning disappointed due to unavailability of the train service, especially children. The resumption of the facility will bring smile to hundreds of children visiting to the zoo daily, said an employee engaged at the toy train station.
