Bhadrak, April 24: In a heartbreaking incident at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bhadrak, a woman lost her life following a lift malfunction. The deceased has been identified as Minati Parida, a resident of Randia Narsinghpur under Bhadrak Rural police limits.
According to reports, Minati had been experiencing breathing difficulties and was rushed to the hospital by her family in an ambulance. After an initial medical examination, she was being taken to the medicine ward when the lift she was in suddenly malfunctioned.
Tragically, there were no hospital staff present near the lift at the time. The lift began moving upward unexpectedly, trapping Minati inside. She reportedly died of suffocation.
The incident sparked outrage among attendants and other visitors at the hospital, leading to tense scenes at the premises. Upon receiving information, local police arrived at the spot and attempted to pacify the agitated crowd.
