Puri, Mar 22: Purificatory bath (Mahasnana) of the Trinity was performed at Puri Srimandir after a servitor sustained injuries.
According to reports, a servitor Krishnachandra Apat fell inside the temple resulting in injuries to his hands and feet, which caused bleeding and informed the temple management, which is considered unholy.
As per the rituals of the temple a purificatory bath called Mahasnana of the Trinity was performed.
During the Maha Snana, the idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra are not directly bathed. Instead, the ritual involves pouring water onto mirrors placed in front of the idols, accompanied by the chanting of mantras.
