Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviews security situation in Pahalgam terror site; NIA joins probe

Pahalgam (J&K), April 23: Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Wednesday to assess the security situation following a deadly terror attack that targeted tourists. 

Arriving by helicopter, Shah surveyed the area and was briefed by top security officials amid a heightened alert in the Kashmir Valley.

Prior to the visit, Shah paid tribute to the victims in Srinagar, vowing on X that "Bharat will not bend to terror" and promising that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also joined the probe, with a senior team arriving at the site to support the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack, which is one of the worst on civilians in the region in nearly two decades.( with Agency Input)
