Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that legendary Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty, who passed away during treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram last night, will be cremated with full state honors.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, CM Majhi expressed his condolences over Mohanty’s demise and wrote, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Odisha’s popular actor Uttam Mohanty. His departure has created a huge void in the Odia cine world. His indelible mark on the Odia art world will forever remain etched in the hearts of his fans. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and I extend my sincerest condolences to his grieving family during this difficult time.”

It is worth mentioning that Mohanty was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for liver cirrhosis and he breathed his last late on Thursday night at the age of 66.
He was admitted to at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar before being airlifted to Gurugram for specialized treatment on February 8.
He reportedly fell ill while shooting for the Odia film Bou Butu Bhoota.
The veteran actor had an illustrious career, featuring in over 135 Odia films and 30 Bengali movies. Additionally, he appeared in the Hindi film Naya Zaher.
