Hyderabad, Dec 5: In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life, and her young son was critically injured during a chaotic crowd surge at a Pushpa 2 screening in Hyderabad.
The incident occurred at the Sandhya Theatre, where a large crowd had gathered to watch the much-anticipated film starring Allu Arjun, leading to a stampede-like situation outside the theatre.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Revathi, a resident of Dilsukhnagar. She was at the theatre with her husband and two children, aged 9 and 7, to enjoy the movie.
According to reports, the massive crowd’s overwhelming push caused the tragic incident. Revathi was tragically declared dead at the hospital shortly after the incident, while her 9-year-old son was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. He remains in critical condition.
The police quickly intervened to control the crowd and manage the chaos at the scene. Authorities immediately transported the injured woman and her son to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, the woman was declared dead. Meanwhile, the son is still fighting for his life in the hospital.
The incident has shocked the local community, raising concerns about crowd management and safety protocols at public events.
