Bhubaneswar, December 17: Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari on Tuesday issued a stern warning to millers failing to cooperate with the District Supply Department in procuring paddy, stating that non-compliance would invite strict action.
The minister’s statement came during a review meeting on the paddy procurement process held at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur.
“Strict action will be taken against millers who do not cooperate with the government,” Pujari said. “Those hindering the paddy procurement process will face severe consequences. This government is committed to the welfare of farmers and the poor.”
The warning follows reports of disruptions at several procurement centres due to millers’ reluctance to sign agreements with district administrations.
Earlier in the day, Minister Pujari visited the shrine of Devi Bhandar Gharani and offered prayers. He was also accorded a warm reception by the district BJP unit.
