Bhubaneswar, Dec 17: Senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi, who was recently summoned by CBI in connection with a corruption case, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), General Administration and Public Grievance Department.
Sethi was Principal Secretary of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, with additional charge of Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department and ST and SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
A notification issued by the General Administration Department stated that the post of Officer on Special Duty is equivalent in status and responsibility to the post of Principal Secretary provided in the IAS Cadre of the State.
Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, a 1997 batch IAS officer repatriated from the Central deputation, has been appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, ST and SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
Mishra will also hold additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, and Principal Secretary to Government, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department.
The additional appointment of Bishnupada Sethi will be terminated from the date Mishra takes over.
Manoj Kumar Sahoo, a 2006 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister on joining the state government on inter-cadre deputation.
