Prayagraj (UP), January 6: With just a week remaining before the grand Maha Kumbh Mela, thousands of devotees, seers, and sages from across India and around the world have already begun arriving in Prayagraj. This spiritual gathering is once again becoming a powerful testament to the faith, devotion, and penance of its participants.
Among the notable figures at the 2025 Maha Kumbh is Rudraksh Baba, who has gained widespread attention for his remarkable appearance. Draped in 108 garlands of Rudraksha beads—totaling an impressive 11,000 beads—weighing over 30 kilograms, Rudraksh Baba stands as a symbol of dedication and spiritual strength. As the number of Rudraksh beads he wears continues to grow, he has earned the affectionate moniker "Rudraksh Baba."
Speaking about his distinctive attire, he shared, "People know me as Rudraksh Baba. These 11,000 Rudrakshas are the Rudras of Lord Shiva. I have been wearing them for a very long time, and they were gifted to me by my worshippers. Every seer wears these Rudras as part of their penance and devotion."
Rudraksha Baba also praised the improved arrangements for the Maha Kumbh Mela this year, comparing them favorably to previous editions. "I am very happy to be here for the Maha Kumbh. The arrangements have certainly improved since the last time," he noted.
His presence has already attracted a large following, with many devotees and social media influencers sharing videos of him online. His unique appearance and spiritual energy are sparking a wave of interest and reverence among both locals and visitors.
Alongside him, other prominent seers have also arrived in Prayagraj. Among them is Digambar Baba from Rajasthan, who has been performing extraordinary penance for the protection of Sanatan Dharma. For the past five years, he has stood with his right hand raised, declaring his vow to safeguard the traditions of Sanatan Dharma. "I have been standing like this for five years now, all for the protection of Sanatan Dharma and the future of our country. Sanatan Dharma is eternal—it has no beginning or end," Digambar Baba said.
From Gujarat, Khadeshwar Naga Baba has also joined the spiritual gathering. This seer has been standing continuously for 12 years for the welfare of humanity, using a specially designed swing for support. Reflecting on his penance, Khadeshwar Baba shared, "I stood for 12 years before taking some rest, and now I am back to continue my penance. I will keep standing as long as I breathe." He also made a heartfelt appeal to the younger generation to stop using polythene, citing its harmful environmental and health impacts.
