Bhubaneswar, Mar 11: The 59th Annual Festival of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, "Jaydev Samaroha-2025," was officially launched at the Utkal Mandap, with the support of the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture.
The event will span four days. The opening ceremony was graced by prominent guests, including Dr. Shantanu Kumar Rath, former Director of Doordarshan and a distinguished scholar in Odia language and literature; Professor Prafulla Chandra Mishra, former Vice-Chancellor of North Orissa University; and Administrative Officer Anuja Tarini Mishra.
The event was organized with the backing of Dr. Vijay Kumar Jena, President of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, and featured the recognition of the college's students. The awardees included notable Odia dance gurus such as Guru Durga Charan Ranbir, eminent dancer Guru Dr. Sneha Prabha Samantaray, distinguished actor Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, renowned Odia dance guru Guru Niranjan Rout, and Odia music guru Dr. Vijay Kumar Jena, along with Odia dance artist Soumya Sucharita Pal.
The program commenced with a Hindustani classical vocal performance by Guru Chandan Kumar Jena and Guru Dhritimaya Behera, followed by a Chhau dance performance by Guru Gour Mohan Mahanta.
