Bhubaneswar, October 7: The Odisha government has regularized the services of 9,200 junior teachers employed in primary and upper primary schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
The School and Mass Education Department has recently communicated the decision to the Director of Elementary Education.
This move applies to junior teachers (schematic), also known as Sikshya Sahayaks, and contractual junior teachers, who have completed six years of continuous, satisfactory service.
These teachers will now hold positions in the Level-V (A) cadre of elementary teachers.
However, untrained junior teachers or those who have not passed the Odisha Teachers' Eligibility Test (OTET) will not be eligible for regularization.
Additionally, the state government has issued appointment letters to 16,009 newly recruited junior teachers as part of various schemes.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi presented these letters during a function at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday.
