Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: The annual Adivasi Mela-2024 witnessed huge crowds on Sunday as people from all walks of life thronged the tribal trade fair to enjoy their holiday at Adivasi Exhibition Ground, Unit-1, Bhubaneswar.

Relishing tribal cuisines, ornaments, authentic organic spices, traditional tribal ornaments and household items are the main attractions for visitors.
There are 66 stalls under the ‘Tribal Haat’ to sell organic products and 15 stalls under ‘Tribal Art and Craft’ of the mela to showcase their traditional handicraft.
The Idital Painting of Lanjia Saura — from Rayagada district, which had received the prestigious GI tag from the Registrar of Geographical Indications, Chennai is witnessing good sale. Similarly, another GI tag recepients Embroidered Shawl of vulnerable Dongaria Kondh is also attracting visitors this time.
Apart from the tribal products, ‘Tribal Huts’ showcasing tribal lifestyle has turned centre of attraction for the urban children.
The tribal crafts include Lanjia Saura painting from Gunupur, wooden work from Thuamul Rampur, santhal handloom products from Kaptipada, Dokra art from Baliguda, Mirgan handloom from Jeypore, Gond art from Keonjhar, bamboo and cane handicrafts from Sundargarh, Sabai craft from Sureidihi near Baripada in Mayurbhanj district.
The fair which was inaugurated on January 26 will continue till February 5.
