Cuttack, Mar 11: In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old elephant who was undergoing treatment near Mitikapur under the Narasinghpur forest range in Odisha’s Cuttack district succumbed to the injuries.
According to officials, the elephant had sustained grave injuries in a fight with another pachyderm and was being treated by the Narasinghpur Forest Division and Dhenkanal Rapid Response Team.
Athagarh Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Manoj Patra said that the exact cause behind the pachyderm’s death will be ascertained after the post-mortem.
