Since first stepping into the digital space via Tumblr in 2008, the legendary actor has written daily entries for an astonishing 6,271 consecutive days—offering his fans an intimate glimpse into his life, thoughts, and reflections.
In a heartfelt note, Amitabh expressed deep gratitude to his fans, lovingly calling them his "Extended Family" (Ef), for being the soul and spirit behind his blog's enduring presence.
“There is so much to learn—from experts, well-wishers—about work, health, attitude, behavior, and so much more,” he wrote. “To those who express, write, and communicate with care and resolve for the benefit of others—my admiration and appreciation.”
He marveled at how technology has enabled voices to be heard in ways once impossible, writing:
“That there is the capacity and the medium to express is the gift of modern technology—unknown before, but known now. Voices that may have remained dormant earlier are now being heard, through the written word.”
Reflecting on the longevity of his blog, the thespian said:
“And so, the 'express' expresses with joy—this blog celebrates an anniversary. Seventeen years of its existence.”
As he looked back, Amitabh seemed surprised by the passage of time:
“When time passed is brought to notice, one wonders—how did 17 years go by? But they did. And they did because the Ef gave it life—a friendship, a family that became an example for many.”
