Mumbai, April 16: Ananya Panday has made history as the first-ever Indian brand ambassador for the iconic French luxury fashion house, Chanel. At 26, the actress has become the only Indian to hold this prestigious position with the label, which was founded by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in 1910.
Sharing the exciting news on Instagram, the Call Me Bae star wrote, “Beyond grateful and excited for my journey with @chanelofficial. The first-ever brand ambassador for and from India. Dreams really do come true.”
Her appointment follows her attendance at the Chanel Spring-Summer show during Paris Fashion Week last year. Ananya also made her runway debut at the event, walking for designer Rahul Mishra’s 'Superheroes' collection — a significant milestone in her fashion journey.
On the professional front, Ananya is gearing up for the release of Kesari Chapter 2, which stars Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Slated to hit theatres on April 18, 2025, the film is a sequel to the 2019 hit Kesari, which depicted the heroic stand of 21 Sikh soldiers during the Battle of Saragarhi. The upcoming installment will continue the legacy, focusing on the spirit of resistance and the relentless fight for justice by India’s freedom fighters during the colonial era.
