Bengaluru, Dec 15: With a significant development in techie Atul Subhash’s live suicide case, the Bengaluru Police on Sunday arrested his wife, mother-in-law and brother in law.
Deceased Subhash's wife, Nikita Singhania, was arrested in Gurugram, while his mother-in-law, Nisha Singhania, and brother-in-law Anurag were detained in Prayagraj.
Subhash, a 34-year-old software engineer died by suicide on Monday, leaving a 24-page note and a video footage regarding the whole episodes of the torture accusing his wife and father-in-law’s family members of metal harassment.
Subhash claimed that his wife had filed false cases against him and demanded Rs 2 lakh per month in maintenance for herself and their four-year-old son. He said his wife, mother-in-law and his brother-in-law kept pressuring him to give them money and lavish gifts since early 2020.
Following registration of a case on the charges of abetment, the techie’s estranged wife and her maternal family members were on the run, to evade legal complication.
