Bhubaneswar: Top seed Kabir Hans bagged both men’s singles and doubles of the 23rd Nalco Open All Odisha Tennis tournament, which concluded here at Kalinga Stadium on Sunday, being organised by Bhubaneswar Districts Tennis Association (BDTA).
In the singles final, Kabir edged out second seed Satirtha Patnaik 6-2, 6-2. Similarly in the doubles final, Kabir partnering Satirtha defeated Ansu Kumar Bhuyan and Chinmay Pradhan 6-2, 6-2.
Top seed Avipsha Dehury, Aahaan Mishra and Debasis Sahoo emer4ged champion in the U-14 Girls, U-14 boys and U-18 boys singles categories respectively. While fifth seed Aahan won the women’s singles title.
The tournament featured a highest cash award of Rs 4.32 lakhs. The champion and runners up of each category received Rs 18,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively. While the semi-finalists and quarterfinalists got Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
Nalco Director (HR) Alok Kumar Pal gave away the prizes as the chief guest of the closing ceremony in presence of head Resident Executive Tata Steel of Ltd Aswini Mohanty, BDTA President Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Secretary Saswat Mishra.
