Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Sunday arrested the Assistant Project Manager at the Orissa Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB) in Bhubaneswar for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
The accused official, identified as Debasis Sahoo, will be presented before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, today. The officials have also registered a case against Sahoo.
As per reports, the anti-corruption bureau officials conducted searches on properties of Sahoo during which his disproportionate assets were revealed.
The following disproportionate assets were unearthed:
- A three-multi-storeyed buildings
- Two shops in a market complex at Jatni
- Two high-value plots in Jatni
- Gold ornaments weighing approximately 200 grams
- Deposits over Rs.56 lakhs
- Cash amounting to Rs.1.57 lakhs
Sahoo failed to give a satisfactory explanation for these assets, resulting in his arrest. The OWSSB serves as the key agency for carrying out urban sanitation projects in Odisha.
