Bhubaneswar, May 11: BJP can’t win hearts of Odisha people even during next 10 years, said CM Naveen Patnaik on Saturday.
Responding to the assertion of PM Modi during his poll campaigns in Odisha for the last two days vowing formation of BJP government in the state this time, Patnaik in a derisive video message raised a scathing voice against the Centre.
In the video message shared on X, Naveen raised some pertinent issues relating to Odisha which are under the Centre’s disposal, and are yet to be addressed due to the PM’s non-cooperation.
Underlining the claim of classical status of Odia Language, Naveen said, “I had personally appealed the PM to accord classical status to the Odia Language, which is one of the richest languages in the nation for its rich history & traditional background, but in vain. Similarly, the classical Odissi dance has also been neglected in many ways despite array of proposals from the Odisha government regarding its due promotion.”
Citing some tall promises of the Prime Minister, assured to Odisha people in the past Naveen said, none of the words have been fulfilled yet by the centre. PM’s frequent announcement to double the MSP of paddy, building coastal roadways, dealing with skyrocketing prices of essential home needs and food grains, capping up prices of petrol, diesel, LPG and provision of enhanced coal royalty to the state are yet to be addressed.
The state has also been inferiorly treated in conferring Padma Shri and Bharat Ratna Awards. Among a number of greatmen of Odisha, Late Biju Patnaik has also been ignored for the coveted hornor of Bharat Ratna, Naveen added.
Naveen also said that Prime Minister Modi has almost failed in keeping up his words and forgot everything what he had committed for the state. However, the PM dreams a lot to celebrate swearing in ceremony here with the BJP government with people’s mandate will never succeed.
