Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: Internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri Awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand sculpture welcoming all the delegates who have arrived in Bhubaneswar to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025.

Pattnaik created the sand art at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar as a tribute to all delegates and esteemed guests.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, he shared a picture of the sand art and wrote “Jai Jagannath! 🙏 Warmest welcome to Odisha for #PravasiBharatiyaDivas2025 I'm honored to showcase my sand sculpture at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, as a tribute to all delegates and esteemed guests, including Hon'ble PM @NarendraModi ji. #PBD2025.”
Notably, the grand event will span three days and is being jointly organized by the Central and Odisha governments.
The PBD convention, a major event for the Indian diaspora, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. Christine Carla Kangaloo, President of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, will be gracing the event as the chief guest.
This year’s theme is “Diaspora's Contribution to a Vikasit Bharat.”
