Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: At least two persons were killed after a truck hit a car near Gangapada on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar last night.
The deceased have been identified as residents of Chandanpur in Puri.
As per reports, three people were on their way to Bhubaneswar from Brahmapur when their car was struck by a speeding truck on the National Highway near Gangapada. The collision was so intense that the car lost balance and overturn on the road.
Upon getting the information, fire service personnel along with police arrived at the spot and launched a rescue operation. The passengers of the car were rescued after cutting doors.
Unfortunately, by the time they were rescued, two persons had already succumbed to their injuries. Another passenger was critically injured and was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The cops have seized the bodies of the deceased person and sent them for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
