Bhubaneswar, Mar 10: The ongoing Budget Session of Odisha Assembly today witnessed an uproarious scene after the opposition BJD and Congress created a ruckus over rising crime against women in the state.

During the question hour, the members of the BJD and Congress staged a protest, alleging that the government was not taking adequate measures to tackle crime against women in the state.
The members of the both the Opposition parties created a ruckus under the Speaker’s podium. As the pandemonium prevailed, Speaker Surama Padhy, unable to run the house, adjourned the proceedings till 12:09 PM.
It is worth mentioning that the Budget session, which began on February 13, will continue till April 5 in two phases – February 13 to February 21 and March 7 to April 5, 2025.
