Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: In an effort to enhance transparency in the Plus 2 board exams, the Odisha School and Mass Education department has opted to live stream the CHSE +2 board exams starting this year.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has instructed all college principals to furnish a status report on the installation of CCTV cameras in their respective examination centers by December 15.
According to the decision, live streaming links will be provided to the Mass Education department and the CHSE for monitoring purposes. The examination centers will be supervised in exam hubs.
The CHSE Controller of Examination stated, "To ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of the Annual H.S. Examination, 2024, it is imperative for all H.S. Schools affiliated with CHSE to record the proceedings of the strong room (of EMHs), Centre Superintendent's office, examination halls/rooms, and all laboratories (in the case of Self-financing H.S. Schools) on CCTV. Additionally, live streaming of these events is required to allow officials at CHSE, S&ME Department, and the district Collectorate to monitor each and every activity."
The CHSE has urged principals to complete the following tasks by December 15, 2023:
- Install CCTV (if not installed) in the examination room/EMH Strong Room/CS Room/laboratories.
- Ensure the proper functioning of already installed CCTV cameras with the correct date and time in the EMH Strong Room, examination halls, Centre Superintendent's Office Room, and all laboratories (of self-financing H.S. Schools).
- Test and keep the cameras ready for use on the day of receiving question papers in the strong room and from the first day of the examination.
- HS Schools applying for new examination centers must ensure CCTV installation in their examination halls and the Centre Superintendent's room.
Furthermore, principals are requested to provide college details, internet provider information with speed, DVR/NVR make, DVR/NVR serial number, username, and password in the SAMS e-space. They should also update the CCTV status in the provided link in the SAMS e-space by December 15, 2023.
The CHSE has issued a warning of appropriate action against colleges failing to install CCTV systems and comply with all the above directives by the stipulated date.
