Paradip, Jan 04: A man and his wife tragically lost their lives in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district when their house collapsed following an explosion while they were making firecrackers, police reported on Saturday.
The incident occurred late Friday in Badabag village, located within the Sadar police station area. Authorities stated that the explosion's force caused the roof and walls of the house to collapse.
The victims have been identified as Rajesh Das and his wife Rani. Rajesh’s younger brother, Paresh, and his wife, Lakshmipriya, were also injured in the explosion. They are currently receiving treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Rescue operations were launched by the police, Fire Services, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at the scene of the tragedy.
