Rourkela, Apr 1: In a crackdown on flesh trade, Police in Odisha’s Rourkela city busted a sex racket and detained five persons including a woman in this connection.
As per reports, the sex racket was operating in the Jagda area under Jhirpani police limits in Rourkela city.
Acting on a tip-off, a special police squad, along with officers from Jhiripani Police Station, carried out the raid under the direction of Rourkela Superintendent of Police (SP) Nitesh Wadhwani.
The police rescued five women who were reportedly working as sex workers and detained five persons including a woman, who were allegedly working as pimps.
All five detainees had previously been arrested for operating similar sex rackets in the area. They are currently being interrogated at Jhiripani Police Station.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
