Bhubaneswar, October 21: The Odisha government has issued an urgent advisory, requesting tourists and pilgrims in Puri to vacate the coastal town by October 23 in anticipation of Cyclone Dana.

The severe cyclonic storm is expected to make landfall on October 24-25, posing a significant threat to the coastal region.

Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari urged visitors, particularly from other states, to prioritize safety and leave Puri as a precautionary measure. 

With the cyclonic storm expected to cause heavy rainfall and strong winds, authorities are taking all necessary steps to prevent potential harm.

The administration is focused on ensuring the safety and security of both residents and visitors in the holy town, and timely evacuation is being emphasized.
