Bhubaneswar, Mar 14: Bhubaneswar is set to welcome a dynamic new addition to its media landscape with the upcoming launch of Radio Bhubaneswar 89.2 FM – The Temple City Radio. This community-driven station aims to become a vibrant platform catering to the diverse interests of the capital city.
Announcing the initiative, founder Subrat Kumar Pati revealed that the station will broadcast on the 89.2 MHz FM band, bringing a unique blend of informative and engaging content to its listeners.
In a significant milestone, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has partnered with Outreach to formalize the agreements necessary for the station’s launch. Designed as an inclusive communication channel, Radio Bhubaneswar will host a wide spectrum of programs addressing crucial community topics. From agriculture and education to arts, culture, sports, and traffic awareness, the station aspires to serve as an informative hub.
Additionally, pressing concerns such as environmental pollution and human rights will be highlighted through dedicated programming, ensuring meaningful discourse within the community.
Beyond its role in entertainment and public awareness, the station will play a crucial part in bridging the information gap for residents of Bhubaneswar and its surrounding regions.
Radio Bhubaneswar will work closely with local authorities to provide accurate and relevant information, fostering greater civic engagement.
The organization spearheading this initiative, Outreach, has long been an advocate for radio’s growth in Odisha.
For over a decade, it has hosted India’s only dedicated radio fair in Bhubaneswar, championing the significance of this medium. Further solidifying its commitment, Outreach established its first community radio station, Radio Outreach, in the Jagatsinghpur district in 2023.
Now, with the advent of Radio Bhubaneswar 89.2 FM, the city is on the verge of experiencing a new era of community-centric broadcasting.
