Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Power supply in several areas in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Cuttack districts has been affected due to the cyclone Dana, which made landfall along the Odisha coast in the wee hours on Friday.
Major impact of the cyclone was on Kendrapara district. However, restoration works are ongoing, as informed by Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo.
He said urban areas like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri remained unaffected.
“Received an update from TPCODL on Cyclone Dana's impact. The load has decreased to 1000 MW from the usual 1300 MW, indicating a 23% drop. While urban areas like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri remain unaffected, restoration work has commenced in impacted areas. 33 kV and 11 kV feeders are being patrolled and cleared for charging.
