Cyclone Dana update: Train services resume on some routes in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Train services resumed on some routes in Odisha after cyclone Dana made landfall in the wee hours of today. 

Except for the cancelled trains, train services have resumed, informed the East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Friday. 

The ECoR stated train services scheduled to originate from Bhubaneswar and Puri have resumed except earlier notified cancelled trains.

Notably, a total of 203 trains passing through Odisha has been cancelled due to Cyclone Dana.

Coaching train services have been resumed other than the cancelled trains, which were notified earlier.

Down trains coming from South (Visakhapatnam side) towards Bhubaneswar and Howrah are now running.

UP trains from Kharagpur side towards Visakhapatnam will be received at Bhadrak Station at about 1400hrs. First scheduled train is 12245 Howrah-Bangalore Duronto Express in this direction, the ECoR said.

It said the cyclone has affected some railway infrastructure in Jakhapura- Jaroli, Nergundi- Bhadrak, Haridaspur-Paradeep and Cuttack-Paradeep Rail Sections which have been restored.

Keeping in view the safety and convenience of passengers, train services had been cancelled in Brahmapur-Bhadrak Section of Howrah-Chennai Main Line including Branch Lines towards Puri, Paradeep, Dhamara, Keonjhar and Talcher.
