FARMER PROTEST

New Delhi, December 2: The farmers' protest is causing severe traffic disruptions in parts of Delhi and Noida as they prepare for their 'Delhi Chalo' march toward the Parliament complex on Monday, December 2. Organized by the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) alongside other farmer groups from over 20 districts, the protest aims to press key demands to the central government.

Traffic has been heavily impacted, particularly around the Chilla and DND borders, with long queues of vehicles visible in several areas. A video from news agency ANI shows cars moving slowly on the Chilla border and a standstill of vehicles across multiple lanes on the DND. In response, Noida Police have issued a traffic advisory, advising commuters to use alternate routes due to barricades and diversions.

The farmers are protesting against the Centre over various issues, including compensation under new agricultural laws and the implementation of benefits for farmers. The five key demands include increased compensation, employment for landless farmers, and proper settlement of populated areas.

Security has been heightened throughout the capital, with police conducting vehicle check
