Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Governor Raghubar Das on Tuesday expressed deep grief over the demise of Former Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly and senior BJD leader Maheshwar Mohanty.

The Chief Minister, in a message said, “ Maheshwar Mohanty earned a reputation as a popular leader. He had a reputation as a skilled organizer. He played an important role in the development of the state as a minister and MLA. Particularly his role in the development of Puri region will immortalize him. As a speaker, he has contributed to the establishment of a high democratic, parliamentary traditio.
The Chief Minister also said that his departure is a big loss for Odisha. Patnaik expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
“Maheshwar Mohanty was an efficient MLA, Minister as well as a popular politician. His demise is a big loss for this state”, said Odisha Governor Raghubar Das.
