Bhubaneswar, Dec 9: Several programs were launched to develop the skills of youth under Nutana Unnata Abhilasha (NUA) Odisha programme of the state government. Under the vision of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, this campaign will help in empowering the youths of the state.
Speaking at the function held at SCTEVT Auditorium , Pritiranjan Gharai, Minister of Skill Development and Technical Education said, “Skilled in Odisha has become a global brand. With wide opportunities in digital skilling and importance on skilling through Nutana Unnata Abhilasha (NUA) Odisha, the youth will be empowered with employability”.
An MoU has been signed with the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), through which the govertnment-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) students will be able to get their Class XII certificates. More than 20 thousand ITI students will receive Class XII certificates every year. New paths for higher education will open and their employment will also increase.
NUA Odisha entered into a partnership with Nasscom to provide digital skilling opportunities, aligning with the demands of the modern tech-driven world. The aim is to provide e-skilling opportunities for 1 lakh youths annually, with online courses curated in collaboration with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Coursera, and more.
Among others, Reghu G, Director, Skill Development-cum-Employment, Prof Saroj Sharma, chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Kirti Seth, CEO, IT-ITeS SSC NASSCOM, Gangadhar Sahoo, OSD-cum-AS, SD and other officials were present.
