Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: Hari Babu Kambhampati will officially assume the role of Odisha Governor today. The incoming Governor arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday and was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).
After his arrival, Governor-designate Kambhampati travelled to Puri with his family, where they offered prayers and sought blessings at the Jagannath Temple. The family spent the night at the Raj Bhavan in the pilgrim town.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. Kambhampati’s appointment as Governor was announced on 24th December last year.
He succeeds Raghubar Das, who had resigned from the position.
Raghubar Das, appointed as Governor on 18th October 2023, stepped down from the role prior to Kambhampati's appointment.
Hari Babu Kambhampati holds an impressive academic background, with a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering, an ME in Electrical and Control Systems, and a PhD in Control Systems from Andhra University.
His professional experience spans over 24 years as an Associate Professor at Andhra University, where he played a pivotal role in the academic and career development of engineering students.
The new Governor brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to his role in Odisha, and his tenure is eagerly anticipated.
