Pahalgam, AP 26: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated ‘Exercise Aakraman’, a high-intensity wargame in the central sector, designed to simulate long-range strike missions and precision attacks on mountainous and ground-based enemy positions.
The drills come at a time of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, following the recent deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
Elite Rafale squadrons from Ambala and Hashimara are leading the exercise, executing precision strikes as part of the comprehensive combat simulations.
The wargame features realistic battle scenarios, electronic warfare operations, and extended-range sorties, with top IAF pilots undertaking complex missions in challenging, war-like conditions.
As part of the strategic manoeuvres, key air assets have been redeployed from the eastern sector to reinforce the IAF’s offensive posture. The exercise spans multiple airbases, with senior Air Force leadership closely overseeing the operations.
‘Exercise Aakraman’ highlights the IAF’s rapid power projection and operational readiness, showcasing its ability to respond effectively to any emerging threats. With the regional security situation remaining tense, more such drills are expected in the coming months to further bolster India’s military preparedness.
