Bhubaneswar, February 15: Odisha Cadre IAS Officers’ leave applications now need the Chief Secretary’s approval.
The Odisha General Administration and Public Grievance Department on Saturday issued a notification in this connection.
The notification states that Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers henceforth cannot take leave without prior approval from the Chief Secretary.
According to the notification, Abrupt & unauthorized absence and leaving the headquarters without permission have been causing significant inconvenience in governance and public service delivery.
The directive aims to ensure that officers remain accountable and available for public service in need, the notification read.
