New Delhi, October 26: President Draupadi Murmu, at the convocation ceremony of IIT Bhilai on Saturday, highlighted the essential role of tribal communities in India’s holistic development.

She emphasized that the country’s progress can only be complete with their active involvement.

“Our tribal communities hold invaluable knowledge, deeply rooted in their natural way of life. Understanding and learning from them can significantly contribute to India’s sustainable development. The complete development of the country is possible only when our tribal brothers and sisters become active participants,” President Murmu stated.

Expressing optimism, she praised IIT Bhilai for its vision and technological innovation, which she believes will further elevate India’s global standing. “IIT Bhilai, with its new approach and advanced technologies, will make the nation proud,” she added.

Reflecting on the global impact of IIT alumni over the past six decades, President Murmu acknowledged their significant contributions in science and technology, noting, “Our IITians are leading in top global firms and have achieved remarkable positions in the 21st-century world with their technical and analytical expertise.”
