Bhubaneswar, Jan 06: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar today arrived in Odisha ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025 scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar between January 8 and January 10.
Jaishankar landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in the evening. The Minister is slated to stay in Odisha till the completion of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD).
Soon after landing at the airport, the Minister directly went to Konark where he will have a night halt at the Konark Eco Retreat.
As per his schedule, Jaishankar will visit the Konark Sun Temple and offer prayers at the Jagannath Temple in Puri tomorrow. He will also visit Raghunathpur, which is famous for its paintings.
While returning to Bhubaneswar, the Minister will also make a visit to the Dhauli Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda) in the afternoon. Jaishankar will also offer prayers at the Lingaraj Temple.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is being organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Odisha government.
President Dropadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers of various departments and overseas Indians will participate in the event.
