Srinagar, Nov 1: In a troubling incident in Budgam district, two laborers from Uttar Pradesh were shot and injured by terrorists on Friday. The attack occurred in Mazhama village, located in the Magam area.
The injured individuals, identified as Sanjay and Usman, were working on a Jal Shakti project when the attack took place. They were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where their condition has been reported as stable.
In response to the attack, security forces have cordoned off the area to locate the assailants.
This incident follows a recent attack on October 20, when two terrorists—one foreign and one local—opened fire at a workers' camp in Gagangir, Ganderbal district. This assault tragically resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including six workers from outside the region and a local doctor, while four others sustained injuries.
The infrastructure project these workers were part of aims to create a tunnel connecting Gagangir to the Sonamarg tourist resort, enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities for the local community.
