Mumbai, March 31: Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma is all set to reprise his role in the sequel to his debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which was released in 2015. The original film, directed by the renowned filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan, followed Kapil’s character navigating through a hilarious, chaotic situation where he juggles multiple relationships. The sequel, however, promises a fresh twist with new comedic elements and a change in direction under the direction of Anukalp Goswami.
On Monday, coinciding with the celebration of Eid, Kapil unveiled the first poster of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. In the poster, Kapil is seen at the altar, dressed in a white sherwani. He’s removing his floral sehra (headgear) while looking into the camera with an expression of confusion and surprise. Standing beside him is his ‘wife,’ draped in a blue lehenga, her face partially covered by a translucent veil and floral headgear.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also shared the first look, calling it a surprise gift from Kapil Sharma on Eid. He wrote, "KAPIL SHARMA - VENUS - ABBAS-MUSTAN REUNITE: 'KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON 2' FIRST LOOK UNVEILS... The first look of the comedy caper Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is finally here, starring Kapil Sharma and Manjot Singh, directed by Anukalp Goswami, and produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, and Abbas-Mustan."
Although Abbas-Mustan, who directed the original film, will not be helming the sequel, they will still serve as co-producers. Anukalp Goswami, who worked as a writer on the original and also on The Kapil Sharma Show, takes over as the director. Manjot Singh, known for his role in Fukrey, will be joining the cast. The original Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon revolved around Kapil's character, Shiv Ram Kishan, who ended up married to three women without their knowledge while still maintaining his relationship with his girlfriend.
