Kathmandu, February 20: Nepal Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba expressed concern over the suspicious death of the Nepalese girl on the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Dr. Deuba urged the Odisha government to initiate a thorough investigation into the delicate matter. She also asked the state to ensure safety & security of the Nepalese students who are studying in Odisha.
According to reports, Dr. Deuba spoke with Odisha’s Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj over phone on the suspicious death of Prakriti Lamsal who allegedly committed suicide over harassment from her boy friend.
During the conversation, Dr. Deuba demanded stern legal action against the culprits, and a safe environment for Nepalese students to maintaining the harmonious relationship between India and Nepal.
On the other hand, the HE Minister assured that nobody will be spared whoever found guilty in connection with the incident. The severest action will be initiated against them soon after the high-level committee submits its report.
